Case Study
Objective
Porchpal is a smart, tenant-to-tenant handover and early-vacancy sharing feature built inside the Porchplus Tenant App — a Nigerian rental platform focused on Lagos.
The platform is designed to empower users to discover and engage with authentic, tenant-verified upcoming vacancies in Lagos' rental market, cutting through the chaos of unreliable agents, fake listings, and opaque handovers.
Process
The process identifying a recurring pain point through conversations with tenants and landlords, mapping stakeholder problems, next rigorous user research, defining clear business goals,putting it together in a simple, mediated flow and finally documenting everything meticulously in a comprehensive PRD.
Outcome
This project sharpened my skills in user-centered product discovery, pragmatic MVP scoping, cross-functional alignment through detailed documentation, and building trust-focused features in high-friction emerging markets.
Crafting a comprehensive yet lean PRD honed my ability to translate messy stakeholder needs into structured, actionable requirements.
The project provided valuable insights into real tenant pain points via personas and quotes, forcing sharper empathy and better problem framing.
